I didn’t sleep all night before departure, I was very worried. But there were no problems with the documents and the flight at all. Upon arrival in Kolding, I was met by my mentor Ali. He gave me a Bilka-card (for groceries) and we went to the store to stock up on food. Then we went to a place that should be my home for a whole year! In our apartment, each volunteer has his own separate room with a huge balcony and light furniture, as if from the pages of Kinfolk. Ali gave me my first pocket money and a work phone. He introduced me to Cliff, who was much luckier: Cliff arrived in Kolding almost two months before me. It’s hard to describe emotions about my first day, so there were too many of them.
